Do you recall applying to attend Kean, and getting accepted?  Admission season is fully underway and many high school seniors are deciding whether Kean is a good fit for them.  The Alumni Admission Network volunteers to assist with student recruitment to Kean.  You can volunteer to attend events or make calls to students for as much or as little time as you have available.  To learn more, email

Mark Friedrich ’09 MA, Health & Physical Education lead teacher at Millburn High School, received the 2016 High School Physical Education Teacher of the Year Award from The New Jersey Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance (NJAHPERD).

In Memoriam

Robert James Fyne, husband of Jo-Ann Dorio-Fyne ’72 ’76 MA, passed away in Fords, NJ. Services have been held. Fyne, a veteran of the Air Force, was also an English professor at Kean for 48 years, from 1967 until his retirement in November 2015.

Kevin Touhey ’77, motivational speaker and author, died of lung cancer at age 64 in Medford, NJ. Services have been held.
