Message from the Alumni Director
alumniCard_imgBuilding.jpg

There is much happening on campus to be excited about right now! The office is in full swing with our events including panels on "When Women Lead" and Entrepreneurism, happy hour in Union at an alumna- owned restaurant, our annual Distinguished Alumni Awards, Cougars That Care Day of Service, and more. We hope to see you at an upcoming event!

If events aren't your style, we are actively recruiting alumni mentors for next fall to partner with a Kean student. We seek alumni both around Union and Toms River.

Lastly, everyone is talking about the Commencement speakers who were just chosen! We cannot wait to be there for Kal Penn, and Norah O'Donnell. If you have a child or family member graduating, let us know!

An Alternate Approach: The Yellow Wall-Paper
March 31-April 8
8:00 p.m.
April 2 and April 8 2 p.m.
Vaughn Eames Hall

In "An Alternate Approach: An Experiment in Perspective," teams of performers, designers, and directors turn the typical production process upside-down and inside-out as they approach the popular American short story The Yellow Wall-Paper by Charlotte Perkins Stetson Gilman. Each approach brings unique points of view to the story in one night of unforgettable exploration, emotion, location and perspective. The Yellow Wall-Paper, while generally considered a feminist classic, speaks to all creative minds and lost souls. The original story is a first-person narrative of a young wife, mother and artist's struggle as she is subjected to a three-month "rest cure" to treat her depression. But why stop there? What's behind the wall-paper? Performances will begin in the Murphy-Dunn Theatre, then the audience will be asked to move from space to space. Please notify the Box Office staff for any special mobility accommodations when purchasing your tickets!
