Message from the Alumni Director
alumniCard_imgBuilding.jpg

This is such a joyous time on campus as we prepare to celebrate the new graduates that will be joining our Alumni Association.  3,000 undergraduates and 690 graduate students will be crossing the stage next week to signify this transition.  We look forward to packed celebratory houses at the NCPAC and Prudential Center.  Can’t make the live ceremony?  Watch from work or home at www.kean.edu/~keanlive.

Foundation Spotlight
Kean Gala
For alumna Marjorie Perry ’74 it has been a fulfilling year.  She was recently honored at the Alumni Association’s Annual Distinguished Alumni Awards luncheon.  This honor was bestowed upon Marjorie not only because of her success as president and CEO of MZM Construction & Management Company, Inc., but due in large part to her principal on paying it forward.  Her generosity to The Marjorie A. Perry Annual Business Scholarship is her way of supporting students like Jonathan Fernandez.  Without Marjorie, Jonathan would not have been able to continue his education at Kean.  She knew how important it was for Jonathan to complete his education and receive his diploma from Kean.  As a coveted inspirational speaker and writer, motivating people with the message that "You too can do it!," she wanted Jonathan to know that he too could do it.

Jonathan and Marjorie are asking YOU to join them in investing in The Pay It Forward Fund.  The Pay It Forward Fund is designed to provide relief to students experiencing hardships due to unforeseen circumstances, circumstances that would hinder them from achieving their goal of academic success.  Marjorie and Jonathan hope that you will invest in the future of Kean students by making a gift TODAY

In fact, for alumna Marjorie Perry, Giving to Kean is a BREEZE!

Did you Know?

Over 200 enlistees in World War II had connections to Newark State Teachers College.  Many wrote letters to librarian, Nancy Thompson.  These letters are being preserved by our history students and can now be read online.
