Message from the Alumni Director

As we celebrate Thanksgiving, we are thankful for all of our dedicated and involved Kean alumni. Whether you participate in the mentoring program, sit on a board or committee, spoke on campus to our students, or have given to the Annual Fund – your contributions continue to help Kean and its students grow. Thank you for being an active participant in the University.

Please take some time to recognize your fellow alumni. Nominations for the annual Distinguished Alumni Awards are open until December 7. Learn more and complete a nomination here.

The Office of Alumni Relations has also partnered with the Rotaract Club on campus and is accepting donations of lightly used purses and toiletry items for homeless women. Donations can be dropped off in our office in Townsend Hall during business hours.

"Newark State Teachers College Goes to War"

Until December 8, 2016
Monday - Friday 10 a.m. – 8 p.m.
Saturday 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Sunday 1 p.m. – 10 p.m

The exhibit, designed and created by students in the Department of History Honors Program, documents life on the campus of Newark State Teacher's College (NSTC), which eventually became Kean University, during World War II. When the United States entered World War II in 1941, NSTC librarian Nancy Thompson wrote to students and alumni in the armed services. Many wrote back. Collected in a scrapbook, this correspondence, as well as photos, newspaper clippings, yearbooks, and NSTC newspapers preserved in the Kean University Archives and Special Collections, offer a glimpse into the experiences of NSTC students serving the war effort abroad and on the Home Front.

We give THANKS to you, our alumni, this holiday season. You make us proud!
Life-changing opportunities are made possible by our donors every day, Each May, the impact of your gifts is celebrated at commencement. As we watch our graduates proudly walk across the stage to receive their diplomas, we are reminded that the core promise of education is its potential to transform lives.

Today, even in the midst of great change, Kean is steadfast in providing exemplary teaching, research, scholarship, creative work and innovative uses of technology. These commitments would not be possible without the generosity of our alumni and friends.
